Parent Representative Responsibilities

Every team MUST have a Parent Representative in place before distribution of coach's supplies and team jerseys and before the first weekend of games. The primary role of this non-voting board position is to serve as a single representative voice for their team’s parents to the Board. This role includes:

  1. Strictly maintaining confidentiality for all information shared by parents regarding coaches, other players, or other RAHA members. A confidentiality agreement will be signed at the beginning of each season. If confidentiality is not maintained, the role will be reassigned. 
  2. Attending a minimum of 3 board meetings throughout the season.
  3. Providing the Board with an update on the team’s success both on and off the ice.
  4. Bringing parent feedback and formal grievances to the Board.


Parent or Guardian Communications

Questions and Concerns should be addressed in the following manner:

  1. General questions should be directed to the team parent representative.
  2. Specific questions regarding coaching techniques or philosophy should be directed to the team coach(s) or, if necessary, the coaching coordinator after a 24 hour cool off period.
  3. Questions regarding behavior, discipline or safety should be directed to the team coach(es) or, if necessary, the Disciplinary Committee.

Team Manager Resources

An official USA Hockey Roster must be submitted and approved before playing any games. Any games played before the official roster is approved will be disqualified. Please contact the RAHA Registrar for any questions.


Team manager responsibilities

The primary role of this volunteer position, held by a parent/guardian, is to support coaches with off-ice tasks such as:


Volunteers: Responsible for gathering volunteers to cover penalty boxes, score keepers, clock operators, and playing music during home games. Penalty Box attendants may also be needed for away games. Consider using a signup website or google spreadsheet to assist in organizing your volunteers.


Scoresheets: Managers should maintain the completed scoresheets. The scoresheets will be used for state tournaments.

Game Cancellations: If there is a home game cancellation, the Manager inform the Board Scheduler as soon as possible. Failure to provide the Scheduler an update on a timely basis may result in ice fees for RAHA.


Team Binder: Maintaining the team binder as well as bringing it to each game and updating it as needed.


Coordinating: Coordinating and making arrangements for away games or tournaments such as hotel block reservations or team lunches or dinners.
