Mite Tournament Official Rules

  1. All games will be 4 on 4 with a dressed goalie.

  2. Majors Tournament play will be ½ ice games, and Mites Jamboree play will be cross-ice games.

  3. 24-minute running time with buzzer every 90 seconds for shift change.

  4. Score will be kept for each game by a scoring volunteer. Disputes will be handled by the Head Referee or Tournament Director.

  5. All teams must be ready to take the ice 15 minutes prior to scheduled game time.

  6. It is suggested that teams bring both Home and Away jerseys. Home teams will wear white/light color, and Away teams will wear dark color.

  7. Referee will throw puck to neutral part of the ice during shift change.

  8. If a penalty is called, the penalized player must leave the ice for a shift and is replaced with another player. Repetitive rough play will be handled by the Head Referee.

  9. Referees for tournament play will be RAHA coaches, as well as, paid USA Hockey referees.

  10. After a goal is scored the puck will be given to the team scored upon and opposing team must back up to give them space.

  11. Tournament: Each team will have 2 warm up games. Once warm up games are complete, tournament play will begin and run as a modified double elimination tournament. The modification being that when there are 4 teams remaining, we enter single elimination for the semifinals and championship game. At the end of regulation, if a game is tied, the clock remains running and the first goal scored wins.

  12. Our games are officiated by volunteers. There is zero tolerance for any abusive or aggressive language from coaches, players, or spectators.
